Creating your eBook part 2

Now that you have your niche content and your research done (if you’re not sure check the archive for part 1) it is now time to check through your eBook and ensure the content is exactly what you are looking for and free from typo’s and errors. It is sometimes a good idea to have a friend look over your work for you. This will reassure you that your product is in good condition and proof read.

*Note* If you did not get your eBook created and got stuck, drop me an email and we can talk about it.

Once you are completely happy with your eBook, it is now time to add your affiliate links, website links, newsletter links, upsell links and so on. You now need to find strategic points of insertion to ensure maximum click through.

If you do not have anything to promote, check out www.clickbank.com and www.cj.com these are great free affiliate programs which you can generate commission sales from.

Login to the market place and check out the commissions in Clickbank.

Click the Marketplace link and search the Business to Business category and use the key words eBay for an example. You will now see a bunch of advertisers with links to their sales pages with two more links under the explanation, called “View Pitch Page” which is the same as the sales page link at the top. And the most important link “Create Hop Link” upon clicking this link you will see two fields, Nickname and Tracking. The Nickname field is all you need to be concerned with at the moment. “Now you are thinking I do not have a nickname” There is a simple signup and registration link to click just below the tracking link. Signup and get your nickname and insert it to the nickname field of the hop link you want.

Once you have your links you can insert them to your eBooks. Try to place them at points of reference e.g. “for more information (on your chosen product) Click Here.”

Once you have placed your affiliate links, website links or links to newsletters, eBay shops and higher priced items, you are ready for the conversion. www.openoffice.org has a PDF converter integrated with it. If you are using another word program, you can use any of these free converters to convert your material to PDF.

“Why PDF and not just text format?”

Word files can be altered and your links can be removed by others, so a PDF is safer and un-editable. Click Here for an example of a PDF format conversion of this newsletter.

Until next time.

Creating your first eBook part 1

Do not be afraid of what is ahead of you! If you are interested in creating your own product then please read on.

Why create and eBook?

eBooks are cheap to create and also a very powerful tool. They allow you to upsell higher priced products, special offers, promote mailing lists, websites and affiliate products, and also provide people with a great source of information, which if you wish you can grant resell rights to others to create more revenue for you. Providing a good source of information is vital to a good eBook. Why would you buy a higher priced product from an eBook if the eBook itself did not convince you of success? Imagine, reading an eBook with great content and excellent sources of information. I would buy the higher priced product if it interested me, or resell the eBook as it is such a good product, or even promote it in one of my eBooks, which I have done many times. Imagine this was your eBook. Well it can be!

There are certain factors which you think may stop you writing your eBook:

1, I do not know what to write about

2, I have no confidence

3, I have no knowledge

4, I have not got the time

These are simply examples of excuses which I come across on a day to day basis. The answers to these questions are simple:

1, research your topic or use your existing knowledge

2, confidence is a state of mind. Gain confidence by researching and writing and never give up

3, research other products and the ways other guys do it

4, make time! A few hours a week will do it. Instead of watching television, try writing an eBook or researching a product or topic?

The fact is we can all create an eBook, sell it and make money.

So what’s first?

Research your product or your chosen topic. This could be an interest a business or simply something you want to learn about.

Just because you are writing an eBook, it does not have to be about making money or internet marketing to actually make money. It can be about anything you like. The truth is, the internet is a huge place, so there is no shortage of markets for you to trade in.

You can also look here for the latest trends and hot projects to write about.

Plus there is no shortage of affiliate links you can add to your eBook from the most popular and best selling websites (we will discuss affiliate links in the next newsletter).

Do a search for your subject on Google and see for yourself what products are selling and what info and research you can find about your chosen subject.

Check out eBay, the Information – Everything else section is the best place to look for best selling eBooks. Watch the listings and check out the sellers and see what is selling well. Look for a gap or untouched niche in the information product section. Maybe you will find the next great idea. You never know what’s around the corner!

Once you have your chosen niche, it’s time to get to work writing. Give yourself time to structure your eBook and find a good layout which you are happy with. If you do not have a word program you can use www.openoffice.org this is a free office program.

There should be enough here to get on with, until the next newsletter.

If you have not heard or seen a brandable eBook then you have probably missed out on a whole lot of money. A brandable eBook is different to a conventional eBook in that you can brand (change) the links to your own or change the link with your affiliate id link or a link to your website. Doing this allows you to in affect make the eBook your own without actually writing a single word.

Imagine selling an eBook on eBay to a customer? You will make the grand total of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Dollars at most! Now imagine selling an eBook which incorporates hyperlinks back to a higher priced product on the backend of your eBook sale, e.g. a member’s area package, mentoring or a larger collection of eBooks for triple the original selling price. This type of eBook will obviously create more revenue than the original selling price of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Dollars as you will make money from the backend sale too.

Now this type of eBook is all well and good, but do you actually have the time and creativity to do it? We all have the creativity, but not the time! So you now this is where the brandable eBook comes into play. Why write your own eBook and create your own products, when you can simply become an affiliate of another marketer’s success and use their products as your own. This task involves signing up for the affiliate program and simply branding their eBook and giving it away or selling it on eBay. I say giving it away because, if you remember the backend sale is worth more than the initial eBook alone, and people love free stuff! So you always have the chance of a sale for every eBook you give away. I get multiple questions from guys asking me “can people steal my eBooks from my webspace?” of course they can, it’s not easy but it is possible. I wish 1,000,000,000,000 people would steal my brandable and affiliated eBooks I would be a very rich man!

If you have wrote your own eBook, you can make your own eBook brandable. Now you maybe thinking “I don’t want to give half my money away or why should I let someone have a link in my eBook to their website!” well this will work for you. Imagine selling your own eBook with links to your backend or higher priced product on your own? As an example your sales maybe 10 per week, however if you make your links brandable, and allow guys to sell your eBook which gives them 50% commission or links to their website or their product, you are going to sell a whole lot more. This is what we call “Viral” as in, it spreads like a virus would. If you imagine all eBook sellers selling your eBook instead of just you, then you are going to make a lot more revenue in the long run.

If you use text converted to PDF to write your eBooks, you can use this brander tool, ViralPDF which is excellent for creating your brandable eBooks.

Things you need to remember when creating your brandable eBooks

1, Ensure you include the eBook sales page and eBook graphics with the eBook. The easier it is for guys to sell your eBook the better. There are countless times I have seen eBooks with resale rights and no sales letter or graphics to speak of.

2, Make the brandable link appealing with a good commission structure and at least 4-5 brandable links. Don’t make your eBook brandable and only allow your potential brander to brand only 30% of links. Let them brand 99% of links. This will increase promotion.

3, Do not have evidence inside the actual eBook that it is brandable, use a folder! If you do this then all the guys your eBook is sold or given to will not resell as they know the eBook is full of branded links, also the new recipient will re-brand the links thus taking away the commission sale from the guy who sold it or gave it to them.

This leaves two options:

1, you yourself can only be the sole seller of the brandable eBook. all buyers must remove the branding tool after branding. Have a separate PDF document in the same folder as your eBook, explaining the eBook can be branded. Have a step by step process explaining how to brand your eBook. Once the eBook has been branded, your reseller can delete your branding instructions and also any branding tools, this removes all evidence of branding.

2, you can allow the buyers of your brandable eBook to sell the branding tool along with the eBook at a higher price. So others can use the branding tool, thus creating a viral effect via a third party.

Basically the golden rule is “get your brandable eBook out there, any which way you can!”

For both creator of brandable eBooks and sellers of branded eBooks the advantages work for both parties and everyone wins.

Here is a collection of brandable eBooks for you to take a look at:

Speed up your marketing projects by keeping it simple!

Today I found out something I have never really given much thought about until now. It does not concern me but you! Obviously this will not concern all of you but I will bet this does fit the bill for a good majority of you.

“What is it?”

Today I was helping someone with a question about a website and marketing, when I found myself reading the email three times over in absolute amazement.

I found the email to be about a website, affiliate id’s, setting up a website, setting up eBay, Adsense codes and more! This got me thinking about when I first started out, and how I dealt with all these setup issues. I never took on too much work at once, more than one project at a time can really confuse you and you will find yourself juggling back and forth between more than one job.

If you find yourself in this situation, then I beg you to take a step back and prioritize your workload. Not only will this allow you to concentrate and give 100% to your project, but it will allow you to complete it quickly and without too many issues.

When I say prioritize I mean write all the current projects you have to achieve in the short term on to a to-do list or on to a note pad, structured with the most important items first. You will now have a structured list of priorities and tasks which you need to achieve.

Now you have your list, start with the first item and get cracking! I guarantee you will move through your task a lot quicker than you would trying to tackle them all at once, bouncing from one item to the next. Don’t start a task, work until you hit a problem and stop because you hit a hurdle or two, think about the problem, conquer, complete and move forward to the next task or project.

“Speed up your marketing projects and keeping it simple!”

I have an audio Freebie for you.

Last week John Thornhill and I sat down at my home with a laptop and a microphone and talked. Talked about what I hear you say? Well we talked informally about selling eBooks on eBay, tips, tricks and marketing experiences in general.

Most guys would charge for this information but, we think it deserves to be given away! So you guys can listen to it at your leisure. Free Information is hard to come by these days:)

Here are the download links below, you can burn them to a CD or listen to them via your PC (turn up the volume, they may be a little quite) either way, is good stuff.

The whole audio lasts around 80 minutes:

Click to download or right click “save target as” (Internet Explorer), or “save link as” (fire fox) to save them to your PC.
